Excerpt from poem “work of art”

“Twice - the number of times I look at myself

 early morning in the mirror

and wonder who I am

believe me I often have to write myself a poem

to truly understand

my worth

and the poem sometimes go like this

you are a well crafted garment

strategically designed

evenly stitched with construction so refined

I tell myself I am fine diamond

but I don’t need the pressure”
